The Formation of AC/DC
AC/DC was formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. The band's early lineup also included bassist Larry Van Kriedt and drummer Colin Burgess. Scott joined the band in 1974, replacing Dave Evans on vocals.
AC/DC's early sound was heavily influenced by blues rock and hard rock bands such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. However, the band also developed their own unique sound, characterized by Scott's raspy vocals and the Young brothers' powerful guitar riffs.
